America 250: Stories & Sails on Long Island Sound

In honor of America's 250th anniversary, join us this July for a special series of sailing experiences that blend the beauty of Long Island Sound with fascinating stories from Connecticut's maritime past.

As we relax under sail, Captain Joy will share some of her favorite local tales—stories of Revolutionary War privateers, Connecticut's role in the world's first submarine, hardworking oyster captains who once filled these waters, lighthouse keepers who guided sailors home, and other colorful characters who helped shape our coastline.

This isn't a formal history tour. Think of it as spending time on the water with a longtime sailor who loves sharing the stories that make this coastline unique.
